“There’s nothing more to life than love is there?”

In The End is the fourth single from Northern Irish Alternative rock band Snow Patrol’s sixth album, Fallen Empires. All songs from this album were written by Gary Lightbody with the exception of New York.

In this song, Gary Lightbody breaks down the complications of living into simplicity and speaks of the language of life as love. He teaches us that nothing else matters except for love and that all silly antics should be put away. He writes of how we should learn to free our minds from weary thoughts and laugh more as being happy is the only thing that makes life worth living.

“This song is about kind of realising what the truth is; realising, kinda like ‘Life-ning,’ all that matters is having love in your life, be it family, friends, a girlfriend or boyfriend and that everything can be boiled down to that and maybe that is the meaning of life.” said Gary Lightbody, Lead singer of Snow Patrol, to Billboard magazine of the meaning of the track.
